Universal Studios Singapore: Tickets, Rides and Tips

Universal Studios Singapore sits inside Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa island, and the operator bills it as the first and only Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia. It packs seven themed zones around a central lagoon, from Hollywood Boulevard to a Jurassic Park jungle and Shrek’s castle. The seven zones and what to ride

The park is laid out in a loop around a lagoon, so you can walk the zones in order and come back to where you started. Height limits apply on many rides, and the official site lists them on each ride page.

Hollywood

You enter along Hollywood Boulevard, with its Walk of Fame. This zone is mostly shows and meet and greets, such as Mel’s Mixtape and appearances by Sanrio characters. The Universal Fireworks Spectacular finale is also listed under Hollywood.

New York

Streets styled on movie New York. The main ride is Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. Lights, Camera, Action! recreates a hurricane hitting New York on a sound stage.

Sci-Fi City

This is the thrill zone. TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle puts you alongside Optimus Prime in a 3D battle. Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON is a pair of coasters where you pick a side. Accelerator is a space-themed ride that the park says will test your balance.

Ancient Egypt

Set in 1920s Egypt. Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor coaster in near total darkness. Treasure Hunters is a gentler ride through the desert sets.

The Lost World

Jurassic Park and WaterWorld share this zone. Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure is a raft ride where you will likely get wet. Canopy Flyer takes you above the jungle, Dino-Soarin’ is a gentle ride for kids, and WaterWorld is a stunt show on water.

Far Far Away

Shrek’s kingdom, with a big castle as its centrepiece. Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey is a roller coaster, Enchanted Airways flies you on Donkey’s Dragon over the forest, and Magic Potion Spin is a mini Ferris wheel. Shows include Donkey Live.

Minion Land

Based on Illumination’s Despicable Me. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a ride through Gru’s lab. Buggie Boogie is a Minion dance party carousel, and Silly Swirly spins you above Super Silly Fun Land and the lagoon.

Universal Express

Universal Express lets you skip the regular queue once at each participating ride and show. Universal Express 3 lets you skip the queue once at any three participating rides and shows. Both include priority entry to the park through a dedicated lane, but only during the first two hours of operation. Passes are dated and valid only on the date you pick, and you can only add one to your cart after a park ticket.

Express is most useful on weekends and school holidays, when queues for the big rides get long. On a quiet weekday you may not need it.

Hours and temporary closures

On the day we checked, the park was open from 10 AM to 8 PM. Hours change by date, so check the calendar on the official site for your day.

Rides and shows close for maintenance from time to time. The official closure page for November 2026 lists, for example:

How to get to Universal Studios Singapore

The easiest way is the Sentosa Express monorail. Take the MRT to HarbourFront, walk into VivoCity mall and go to Lobby L, Level 3. Sentosa says the first train runs at 7 am and the last at 12 am. You can also walk in over the Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity Lobby F, Level 1, though part of it has been closed for works, so check the Sentosa transport page first. By taxi, the recommended drop-off is the B1 Casino Entrance at Resorts World Sentosa.

  • Keep the Jurassic Park rapids for the hot part of the afternoon, and carry a change of clothes or a poncho.
  • Download the Universal Studios Singapore app for show times and closure updates.
  • Check each ride’s height limit before you promise a child a turn.
