What is free and what you pay for

Gardens by the Bay sits on reclaimed land next to Marina Bay. The open-air parts, including Supertree Grove, the Serene Garden and the waterfront paths, are open daily from 5am to 2am with no ticket. Bay East Garden, across the water, is open 24 hours.

The paid attractions are indoors or up in the air:

  • Resident rates cover citizens, permanent residents and pass holders living in Singapore, and proof may be asked for at entry.

You can buy at ticket.gardensbythebay.com.sg, at the ticket counters at The Canopy, or through the official Gardens by the Bay app. Booking online on weekends and school holidays saves time at the counter.

Each paid attraction closes for maintenance once a month, on different days. In November 2026, Flower Dome closes on 16 November and Cloud Forest on 17 November. Check the closure dates page on the official site before you lock in a day. The OCBC Skyway can also stop admission during bad weather, which in Singapore usually means a thunderstorm.

Garden Rhapsody light show timings

Garden Rhapsody is the free light and music show in Supertree Grove. It runs every night at 7.45pm and 8.45pm. The Supertrees light up in time to a soundtrack played through speakers around the grove.

During the festive season there are extra shows:

  • 27 November to 11 December 2026, and 31 December 2026 to 3 January 2027: 7.45pm, 8.45pm and 9.35pm
  • 23 to 27 December 2026: 7.10pm, 7.45pm, 8.45pm and 9.35pm

While Christmas Wonderland is on, Supertree Grove becomes a ticketed area. Without a ticket you can still watch the show from the World of Plants area nearby.

The ground under the Supertrees gets crowded close to show time, so arrive 15 to 20 minutes early if you want a spot to sit or lie back and look up.

The two conservatories

The two domes are the main reason to buy a ticket. Both are air-conditioned, which helps on a hot afternoon or a wet one.

The Flower Dome holds old olive trees, baobabs, succulents and a central flower field that changes display through the year. The Cloud Forest is cooler and damper, built around a tall planted mountain with an indoor waterfall near the entrance. Walkways spiral up and around the mountain.

Cloud Forest currently carries Jurassic World: The Experience, with dinosaur models, sound effects and flashing lights. The Gardens warns that guests sensitive to loud sound or flashing light should keep this in mind.

Plan on about an hour for each dome. Cloud Forest has an earlier last entry (8pm), so see it first if you arrive late in the day.

Skyway and observatory

The Supertrees are vertical gardens covered in climbing plants, and the tallest is about the height of a 16-storey building. Two of the paid attractions take you up into them.

The OCBC Skyway is a 128-metre walkway hung between two Supertrees, 22 metres above the ground. It gives a close look at the canopy and a view across to Marina Bay Sands. Admission stops during storms.

The Supertree Observatory sits on the tallest Supertree. It has an indoor viewing deck and an open-air rooftop deck one level up. Both are worth doing in the evening, when the city lights come on. If you only want one, the Skyway puts you among the Supertrees and the Observatory gives the wider view.

How to get to Gardens by the Bay

  • Thomson-East Coast Line: get off at Gardens by the Bay MRT (TE22) and take Exit 1, which leads straight into the Gardens.
  • Circle or Downtown Line: get off at Bayfront MRT (CE1/DT16), take Exit B, follow the underground linkway and cross the Dragonfly Bridge or Meadow Bridge.
  • East-West Line: from Tanjong Pagar MRT (EW15), take Exit C to the bus stop at International Plaza and catch bus 400 to Marina Gardens Drive.

Bayfront also serves Marina Bay Sands, so it suits a combined visit. The Gardens’ address is 18 Marina Gardens Drive.

A simple plan for one visit

  1. Arrive around 4pm and walk the outdoor gardens while it is still light.
  2. Visit Cloud Forest, then Flower Dome, before the evening.
  3. Walk the OCBC Skyway at dusk.
  4. Stay for Garden Rhapsody at 7.45pm in Supertree Grove.

This fits well into a day around Marina Bay, which is how our Singapore itinerary for 4 days uses it. If you are also planning Sentosa, see the Universal Studios Singapore guide. Indian passport holders should sort out the Singapore visa for Indians first.
